Thank you very much for sharing that with the board Hogs, To me that was a very clear and concise message, that things are much better than they appear(JMHO)
Wow.. I had to look at those pics again. I confess that I did not really understand just how much of a machine that PROTEUS is... ... quite the engineering feat.
Great post dffhogs! Here is more info on the ship.
VIKING POSEIDON DELIVERED
Viking Poseidon left Ulsteinvik to be fitted out with a 250-tonne offshore crane just before Christmas. Tuesday 13 January the vessel was delivered to Eidesvik Offshore.
- The shipowning company is already very enthusiastic about the vessel, and they have great expectations for the ship. We took her around Stadt, a very rough sea area along the Norwegian coast, and the wind reached hurricane strength. The vessel is very good in rough conditions, says Ulstein Verft sea trial captain and manager for the aftermarket department Frank Strandebø.
The hurricane made waves to around 12 meteres, and the vessel showed great seakeeping qualities. - We hardly noticed the rough sea. We really got to confirm that the ULSTEIN X-BOW® functions according to its intentions, says Strandebø.
Operations in Mexico Viking Poseidon is signed up for a long-term contract with Veolia ES Special Services Inc. (USA). The ship will be a base for advanced ROV vehicles that will inspect and repair offshore installations in the Gulf of Mexico. The contract is for eight years with options.

The information provided is as good as a press release or perhaps a conference call given the details of the ongoing business as well as the attachment.
The camera's are on and the business continues despite a lousy worldwide recession ( some say depression).
Does the PPS make me happy "H*LL No" but it is what it is until further notice...I suspect it could be worse and that is the phones do not work, camera's off and the management team has fled the country!
Still think your Bug is cool!!! Can you say that I think I am wanting more to become a (tree hugger) that is such an important key to understand where we stand in relationship to the market as a whole!!!! Great Pics you got there.. So that confirms the side shot I posted that indeed that is DDI equipment on the boat!!!! The information that Steve sent you also is important imho when I add the information that I read about the Desert oil wells having to pump more and more water into the well just to keep it stable... While I know that in 20-30 yrs if indeed we can keep the fires burning on ALT energy resources we will no longer have the dire need for oil just to make our great nation run... And by that time if Joe and the people @ DDI keep on track in expanding there SERVICE as the go to people for under water design and install, our future is quite bright indeed. imho. thanks for the post
