Well, since Mexico doesnt make anything worth a crap, including guns, it is easy to see why many come from the USA.....Doesnt take away from the fact that AK-47's manufactured in China also make up a huge amount of the weapons that are used by the drug cartels.
With thousands more coming in every month.
The point I was trying to make on the other board is simple....The US can ban every assault rifle they want to.....It wont stop illegal traffic and wont stop the cartel problem....All it will do is take firearms out of the hands of law abiding US citizens.
Regardless of what many here "think", I am around Federal Agents on a regular basis. I speak with them on this subject on a regular basis and I have a very good handle on what's going on down there.
Also, in your post, Mr Hoover states that "use of firearms illegally obtained in the U.S. and subsequently smuggled into Mexico."...........Firearms sold at gun shows are done so legally so the premise that Mexico is being flooded with guns sold at Gun Shows is patently false.....The agent didnt claim gun shows are the problem...That was the Media's assessment.
Steph believes that Hand grenades and rocket launchers are sold at gun shows...Another patently false assessment.
Now, if Mr Holder wants to curb violence in Mexico, rather than outlaw assault rifles in the USA, he should simply police the border as is his mandate and that of the DEPT of Homeland insecurity.
As I stated before, rather than the DHS do their damn job and monitor what is crossing the border, it is easier, with a swipe of the pen, for them to fuck with our rights and ban a legal product.
And for Mexico to blame their violence problem on us is not only insulting, it is absurd. For Eric holder to believe them is not only absurd but grounds to have him thrown out of office. It seems we cater to Mexico more than we protect the rights of our own citizens.
One more thing......
Those very arms shipments are destabilizing other countries and regions, such as our southern neighbor. Mexico is even begging the United States to stop the weapons pouring into its country.
My opinion on the above statement....FUCK THEM. When they stop pouring illegals into our country, maybe we should listen to them.
Mexico if filthy corrupt in its Govt and its law enforcement....The drug war will never end when 20 % of Mexico's law enforcement officials are paid off by the Cartels.
The Cartels are rich and powerful and if they cant get their guns from us, they will just get the elsewhere....Their reach is worldwide.......Anyone who thinks taking away gun rights in the USA wil solve the problem doesnt understand the problem in the first place.
