An "assualt" rifle is simply a single shot, semi auto rifle that looks "scary". The folks that want assault weapons banned know nothing about firearms to begin with.
If I want to kill someone I can bash their brains out with a baseball bat just as easy as pulling a trigger from 10 feet away.
I have combat handguns that are under no "ban" that have 18 round capacity mags and one in the chamber...
With one simple handgun I could cause carnage on a massive scale and never come near an assault rifle.
The whole idea of banning "scary" looking guns is ridiculous.
