look who's on the list '14.05.2004 Google Inc. USA '. Apparently a broker applies to BBB to have a company listed. [on the BBB web site it's 'beantragender Makler' i.e. 'applying broker'].

THANKS That was the most fun I had in a long time.
On my slow dial up it only took about 3 minutes to load,
but it was super worth it. Like a good book you can read
over and over, I watched it many times, and each time
was able to pick up new "stories" and enjoy The End.

a google for 'börse berlin naked short' just returned 4000+ hits, apparently it must be some topic. A brokering co called Berliner Freiverkehr AG seems to be involved in most cases and a lawyer named Angsar Limpreccht is involved in most, if not all of the listings.

OTOH I found this recent pressrelease from BB which denies the whole case:

In einem informellen Meeting im Juni 2004, an dem Vertreter der SEC, der NASD, der Börsenaufsichtsbehörde in Berlin und der BaFin teilnahmen, wurde von der Berliner Börse noch einmal eindeutig klargestellt, dass es hier weder bisher Fälle von short selling gab, noch dass es welche geben kann. Die Anforderungen an Handel und Abwicklung sowie die gesetzlichen Vorschriften in Deutschland lassen ein naked short-selling nicht zu. Die Verpflichtung, in Deutschland getätigte Geschäfte innerhalb von 2 Tagen zu erfüllen, wird durch entsprechende Börsenregularien auch stringent durchgesetzt.
