You should try using a cross-trainer. I like the elipitical machines. Kinda like a cross between running and bicycling. Less wear. I also do a versa climber

Mom is 71 and Dad is 74..they have a treadmill like mine..or rather I bought one identical to theirs..lol..I think they walk about 15 minutes or so a day at speed of, i think my mom said, 2.8...a speed that's comfortable while using those ski poles...they don't time it necessarily..they play gospel and country tapes..and do 5~6 songs from what I gather.
