ALIF -- in light of ALIF's disappointing results, Mike & I are going to eliminate it from the "favorites" list even though we still own some shares, the short-term risk/reward ratio has changed enough to not warrant it as a "favorite" -- with ALIF's crash today it's 2009 return is unchanged and for purposes of the performance of the 2009 favorites, we consider the trade done at break-even.

(ALIF is technically up 0.5% for the year, but for easy record-keeping I'll just call it 0.0% and eliminate it from the performance list)

Sometimes you get one (or more) wrong. I change my mind and dump a loser now and then.

ALIF was a favorite,
now it is NOT a favorite.....

It happens all the time with the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Every time a company goes belly up or is about to, the Dow replaces it with a new stock. If they didn't, the Dow would be at about 2,500 right now. LOL.
