New York Yankee star player Alex Rodriguez tested positive for steroids in 2003, according to Sports Illustrated.
The publication cites "four independent" sources in their online report which reveals, "when he won the American League home run title and the AL Most Valuable Player award as a shortstop for the Texas Rangers, Alex Rodriguez tested positive for two anabolic steroids."
The sources reportedly told Sports Illustrated that A-Rod's name is on a list of 104 players who tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in Major League Baseball's 2003 survey testing.
Sports Illustrated reporters confronted Rodriguez Thursday at a Miami gym, and the Yankees third baseman declined to comment on the 2003 test. "You'll have to talk to the union," Rodriguez told the reporters. They also asked him if there was an explanation for the positive test and Rodriguez replied, "I'm not saying anything."
