This week Glaxo and Astra are both expected to cut 6k jobs each.

Job available re cleanup of layoff tallies:

Layoff tallies have been kept on this board in a few places in the form of a “base” post and a Reply chain. This is a cumbersome way to track the layoffs, and it would be helpful to convert all of the layoff data to a single formatted table that is updated on a regular basis with a link to the latest update to be kept in the iBox.

These are the “base” posts from which the Reply chains emanate:

• 2008 Big Pharma layoffs: #msg-33745905 and 6 replies.

• 2008 pharma/biotech layoffs: #msg-28244520 and 3 replies.

• 2007 (and earlier) layoffs: #msg-21837592 and 18 replies.
