I've also been one to chime in with "If I want quotes, I open a new window for them and get them free" as one of the supports for my argument that quotes isn't a pure message board function, so doesn't need to be included here.

I'll admit, though, that when I'm reading at SI, RB, or Yahoo, I do appreciate that there's a quote right there on the page I'm reading so I don't have to go through the steps necessary to pull up a quote elsewhere.

I tried to answer this in my earlier response. I have no problem with daily closing prices. It's the steady stream quote, which ties up bandwidth and usually costs money, that I think is unnecessary here.
