Reagan ran on a platform of support for small biz. Today's Reaganites forget that... It is small biz that creates most jobs!
Wall St. as we know it is gone. No one is raising capital, and the credit markets are "frozen" or so they tell us... So why not provide incentive for small biz to raise capital from the private sector, to fund other biz ventures and capital improvement? Provide some incentive for small firms to assume some investment banking function... To fill that void?...
That would certainly allow the little guy a seat at the table, allow for innovation in the financial services industry without the greed that dominated and destroyed (the former) Wall St -- and took the global economy with it...
Just some thoughts on small biz and tax incentive -- on using the tax code to achieve social progress without directly financing social "change"... There are lots of ways to use the tax code to achieve positive economic outcome, to uplift the "middle class", to provide jobs, etc...
