If I would have lived closer to my G-Uncle, I would have questioned him too. However, I'm told most of the WW11 vets were reluctant to discuss their experiences.
My G-Aunt who was born in Poland was so young during those years...all she ever said was it was a very hard life. Her whole village had been imprisoned...she thinks they would have eventually been gassed too if the war would have continued.
Have you ever heard of Johnny Weismueller? (sp) I think he was the original Tarzan back in the 1930s or 40s.
