I've heard that of the many thousands of prisoners detained by occupation forces in Iraq, only several hundred were actually charged with any offense. Detention of none charged individuals often lasted months. There seems to be a belief here that those prisoners who were tortured were guilty of some offense. That is untrue. Innocent civilians were likewise tortured by US forces and a system that enabled the abuse.

Seabass...I get the feeling we're not talking about the so-called "outrage" anymore... over the mistreatment of prisoners.

I'd ask you to enlighten me on the rest of the story... but I'm sleepy and about ready for bed.
