chilar4567, your right, I've watched with great intrest as I must condsider this type of event everytime I go to work, but always hope it never happens for my sake, and the 400 passengers behind me. If I ever had to do it I'd like to have the option to pick a nice smooth river to land on, and not the 5000 miles of ocean I usually fly over.
The US Air crew made a great descision in a very short space of time, and carried it out perfectly, still amazed that they kept it from coming apart on touch down, that's extremely rare.
With this one it looks like they just need to have things go their way now to secure a piece of the big pie that is out there, and if that happens we should be in good shape.
