Like many, I wonder the point of yesterday's machinations; though it would have seemed rational to someone.
Even amidst all the craziness inherent in such a stock under such conditions, I continue to focus on the facts and come out that someone will want this for more than debt.
In fact, the NYTimes had a story yesterday about Pfizer laying off 5-8% of its 10,000 researchers, while indicating it wants to focus on its core six therapeutic areas that includes diabetes. Analysts indicate that the company wants to have 24-28 compounds in late stage trials by the end of the year. With a strong balance sheet, they can achieve one such effort cheaply - through the purchase of AGIX.
I cannot help but think that Merriman Curhan Ford has Pfizer on speed dial...
