OT: Roni--heh, when I read your quote & response:

"This was the kind of incredible bungling that no one could anticipate."

...I could only think of one thing: Condoleeza Rice:

""I don't think anyone could have predicted that . . . they would try to use an airplane as a missile, a hijacked airplane as a missile."

(no offense intended, Linda...just found it mildly amusing...)

BD: No offense taken. Maybe we should have guessed they'd stopped manufacture of all the iMacs in anticipation of a product to be announced this past Monday, but the product won't be ready till September, so they have no iMacs to ship in July and August. And maybe September, too.

Yup. That was just on the tip of my tongue to predict. Me and Condoleeza. Except no one sent me a study entitled: "Steve Jobs will fail to manufacture new iMacs to replace those he stopped producing so there'll be no iMacs to ship for months." And they did send one to Condoleeza and Bush!

roni: lol! Okay, you're so right. Apple has bungled often, but not often to this magnitude. This is very high end bungling. :) How about a TOP BUNGLE award going to Steve Jobs this week! Take him off those lists of "most admired CEO" and put him on the list of "doghouse sitters."

You've been playing Apple quite well, all considered. You miss the highs, but also the lows.
