#40905 RE: Gmenfan #40904

Last summer I was living in NH and got interested in Laidlaw when they announced their Henniker project and started looking into the company. I have just about every newspaper article written about Laidlaw going back to early 2008. I can't find any record of Laidlaw meeting with any representative of the City of Berlin since the Planning Board meeting in Jan 2008. However, I find all sorts of references to meetings between Clean Power and the city. I don't think this is favoritism but a case where a company has worked hard to create a working relationship between them and the city. I personally think it is Laidlaw's own fault that Clean Power is in the position they are today. Where was Bartoszek when all this was happening? As part of my DD I called the NH Department of Environmental Services or the NH DES which Mike wrongly identifies as the "DEQ". They were reviewing Clean Powers application but had, at that time, received nothing from Laidlaw. I know these councilors were elected partially for their opposition to reuse of the boiler, but I still feel it was poor management on Laidlaws part that is the biggest factor in the situation as it exists today.
