I quite honestly believe that most people in the community do not care, of course there are many that do, the fact is that Berliners had no say in their own future, for better or worse. Maybe for the better, I personally believe the longer the Mayor and Council do not talk and work with this company, that is coming wether they like it or not, the more the community and LLEG will suffer. Maybe I am wrong, look at how cuddly Clean Power and the community have been and at this point I believe the Laidlaw project has a better chance. This is a PSNH town, the Laidlaw project is a PSNH project and they are allighing themselves to bugger up Clean Power.

Matthew .... Your statement "A lot of residents, including the Berlin council (sigh...) are living in a state of delusion where they feel that Berlin can be fixed with a Casino and a little good luck. It's not going to happen."

brings us back to some past questions. If there truly is/were alternate plans for the site...

Why wasn't the city of Berlin in the mix to purchase the mill when it was closing down?

Why wasn't anyone else interested in purchasing the mill?

I found it amusing that one writer made the statement that Laidlaw should sell the plant. LMAO ..... To who????

There certainly were ample oportunities for other buyers to be involved even before the mill completely shutdown. Now all there is is the mayor and council plus the vocal minority screaming fight, fight, fight against a company that most certainly be benefitial to the community.

Pompous, arrogant, bullheadedness at it's finest to the detriment of all citizens.

Such a shame .....
