NVEC Madness- No one covers it !!

Nanotechnology Industry:
We believe nanotechnology is the next major step in the technology space. Building at the nano-scale allows for new materials to be created and new interactions among material, semiconductor, and biological agents. Think of nanomaterials as the next "plastic." Nanotech is not a separate discipline but will impact existing sciences. Consequently, we have invited our research colleagues to contribute their views of how nanotech may affect their spaces. Tools and materials should be the first markets to benefit. Since you can't go where you can't see, instrumentation from companies such as Veeco (VECO), FEI (FEIC), and NanoInk could be in demand. Nanomaterials are already on the market, from stain-resistant pants to hydroelectric turbine blades. Nanomaterial names include GE (GE), Amco (ACO), Applied Films (AFCO), Cabot (CCMP), and Nanophase (NANX). The impact in biotech could take longer. The most practical near-term biomedical use for nanotech is likely to occur through improvements in diagnostic techniques and drug development. In medical devices nanotech will affect drug eluting stents, orthopedics, and diagnostics. JNJ appears to be on top of the trend as does private company Nanosphere. Semiconductor manufacturers already deal with materials at the nanoscale level, but true nanotech eventually could disrupt semis by building bottom-up. Nanotech semi companies include Intel (INTC), NVE (NVEC), Nantero, and ZettaCore. After memory, computation might be impacted based on carbon nanotubes and quantum computing. IBM (IBM) and HP (HPQ) are both active. Putting money to work in nanotech names should be more like biotech than Internet investing. Discounted cash flows will drive valuations until profits arrive later. Compared with the Internet, nanotech appears to have higher barriers to entry and lower barriers to adoption. Companies that could benefit from nanotech include Intel (INTC), GE (GE), IBM (IBM), Veeco (VECO), FEI (FEIC), Harris & Harris (TINY), and Ultratech (UTEK). Private companies mentioned here include NanoDynamics, NanoScale Materials, NanoInk, Nanosphere, Nantero, Zettacore, and Zyvex.
