Hmmm, wd40 those connections, they might have corroded a bit and you are not getting the feed strongly enough. Trust me, it can work. I am MS. Fix it when it comes to electronics, have been since I was 10. AND, have you changed the cable? Sometimes they go bad. Phil, I have had them go bad on me.
I have plenty of extra cables if you need one.
