But Mr. Deligance (Sorry, are you being as bad at spelling as I am?) isn't the recall problem corrected by the new memory modules (made after July 2003) HP will mail out?

Hmmmmmm, such a quandry.

On the one hand, we have our resident prophet of doom and gloom propagating the notion that different architectures will have parallel problems ... a circumstance which depends on much more complex conditions than the author suggests.

On the other, we have a new poster with a single post, who appropriated the name of one of our most respected posters, trying to influence our view ... when (s)he has neither the style, the grace and nor the intellect of DewDiligence.

I believe I'll take it all cum grano salis.

And ... not the waste a post on such a beautiful morning, I'll add that it may be time to re-consider this target of our (dis)affection. It has put in what looks like a fairly good base.

DewImposter, Re: than why have the intel laptops been the only ones that have to be recalled?

Maybe because those were the ones using the faulty modules??

Frankly, I don't know, but I offered the unbiased engineering perspective, and you can verify this information with anyone else knowledgeable in the same field. If you still don't like the response then, it's your problem.
