I'm not sure whether your post was meant to be in contradiction of mine, but if so, please explain how. I said, "This is not to say that colonoscopies are bad or should be eliminated. It is just stating the obvious fact that earlier diagnosis (unlike true prevention) greatly increases total medical expenses. [Emphasis added]" Your post would seem to add weight to this, with the new information that the diagnostic technique itself is creating an additional, hitherto unknown, expense which further increases the total expense of early diagnosis and treatment.
