They're not lower cost, they're lower margin.

Hey, that's relative my friend. An 84 mm2 chip on 300 mm2
wafers? I doubt Intel has seen margins like that, even for
the Celeron version, since the license-to-print-money x87
math coprocessors in the mid 1980s.
