The only good job that Intel is doing is giving their prime competitor an opportunity of a lifetime.

Bah humbug. This isn't even in the same league as bringing
out the hot, 217 mm2 Willamette with only a Rambus chipset
as a mass market PC platform heading into the worst tech
recession in my lifetime.

The desktop segment has never been as marginalized as it
is now. Intel has an unmatched weapon in Centrino to tap
the hottest market, mobile. Prescott ain't the greatest but it
is cheap to manufacture compared to AMD's 130 nm SOI,
9LM monsters. It's well within Intel's economic means to
render any AMD market share advance in the desktop over
the next year or so a blood red ink filled pyrrhic victory at
best.
