They aren't in that bad of shape IMO. I think that they are certainly liquid enough to pay the settlement with Blast.

This will be decided prolly by the end of 2008 in Bohm's court.

Scotch...Even though the Blast/BESV equity settlement resides with the HW Energy private company, it is nice to see that HWG looks to be strong right now...check the recent div info and their chart...

By a press release issued on December 4 2008, the Board of Directors of The Hallwood Group Incorporated (the "Company") declared a dividend in the amount of $7.89 per share of Common Stock. Based on the number of shares of Common Stock currently outstanding, the total amount of the dividend would be approximately $12,000,000. The dividend is payable on December 29, 2008 to shareholders of record at the close of business on December 15, 2008.
