I got the boot the day after my 24th service anniversary.

I started a small business this summer, knowing that I would be losing this job. It is growing beyond my expectations and should be self sufficient by this time next year. I am hoping to employ a few of the people who were laid off as well.

I also got an aluminum parachute (the golden ones were taken by upper management-hehe)from the company I worked at.
Full Pension, Med bennies for 4 years, free college tutition/expenses with full un-enjoyment for two years (job left the country), and 1-1/2 yrs severance pay. Guess I cant complain too much.
