Our proprietary plasmid DNA sequences turn off the HSV ICP4 and ICP47 genes. Found in HSV1, 2 and Herpes Zoster, the ICP4 gene is critical for the replication of the virus in the host cell, while the ICP47 gene produces a protein that assists the virus in interfering with the immune system’s ability to recognize the virus and eliminate it.
