At least 20 to 25% of the money that gets extracted from the market comes from individual investments.
Every Hedgefund, every money mgr knows the days of the month when contributions are being made to individual retirement accounts. The also hire their own market makers who control their buys and sales based on the information before them, this in one part of the market that deserves alot, and I mean alot of oversight. They also have their own brokers who are paid extremely well as their market makers for any and all inside information. Market Makers never have a losing day, nor do the brokers who have such clients.
Shortselling is their bread and butter, and when they can target a company and take it to the cleaners as we have seen with AIG, FRE, FNM, LEH and many many others they can make hundreds of millions on this acitivity, and as we have seen the default rates on these CDS's, can result in billions being paid out to these Hedgies at the cost of a bankrupted company who insured them, shortselling can be compared to a run on a bank if they are after the cash payout on these CDS's. Now its Citigroup and their need of $300 billion, $300,000,000,000., or Three Hundred Thousand Million Dollars. This is money thats going to be given out to all those who are responsible for making this mess so they can protect all those multi-millionaires and billionaires, and institutions that mean so much to Wall Street so they can pay off their gambling debts. The chumps who will pay for it for a long long time are people just like you and me in one form of the other.
Our Govt "today" displays just how big a racket they are. The BS on CSpan is just a show to give the appearance they are looking out for the rest of us................all they are looking out for is themselves, their power, their influence, what they may get, future contributions, and their own investments...............they are as big a fraud as the lot of them...............The Govt is good at using diversions to keep Americans minds off what is really going on.
Not one Senator should be able to serve more than one term.
Not one Congressman should be able to serve more than two.
Be subject to recall anytime.
What is happening is a disgrace, its nothing more than a political nightmare...........Strong Thurman a Hundred years old, or Byrd, and the lot of them that should have been forced out by term limits years ago. Its an easy life when we look at someone who has to be on a production line or working in a Sewer, or an ironworker, or digging ditches, and after one term they are eligble for retirement benefits, something else that should be changed. Half of them don't show up half the time so they can do their job. Let any of us do this see how long we last at any job.
