I saw the Japanese working the thing a lot when I was in that charming Country..right afer the surrender. But I never tried to learn how to "run" one.

Nor to read a Japanese Newspaper.

Mnay Japanese were more or less adept at English...so while I did learn a lot of simple phrases, (and still remember most of them)..it was never essential that I learn the language.

You can still see Chinese guys at the computer fairs use them... and holy shi't are they quick.
