No group has had their faith more tested than G-ds "Chosen" people. When you look back at history,one could wonder whether being "CHOSEN" is a good thing or not. eh? edit...just read your chosen post along the same lines
How do you know you were not heard? Because no miracle occurred? Because no one came to "save" you? Perhaps in His infinite wisdom, God knew the important thing was for you to dig yourself out of the hole you were in. Apparently he was right . . .

Edit: In regards to punishments being heaped upon God's Chosen People, all I can say is that from those to whom much is given, much is expected.
Now your older, wiser, and amongst many friends chosen or not....with all that baggage behind you, wouldnt it be natural to just forgive and forget?
Hindsight is a gift taken much for granted. Attribution too hindsight can still be wrong, as its charachter was Serviceability, on a journey not yet completed.
