I am afraid the expectations here are way too high as far as time frames are concerned. There are not many pharmas that will partner or make a significant committment without some Phase II results. Of the ones that I have been through as an investor, Imclone's Erbitux had PII before Bristol got in and Amylin's Byetta had PII before Liilly got in.
Nanoviricides doesn't have human any human trials yet.
Look at PVCT. They have developed compounds which attach to cancer cells, invade them and destroy them without affecting surrounding tissue at all. They have completed a PI trial with 20 patients in Stage III and Stage IV metastatic melanoma. Of those 20, 8 had an objective response, ie the tumor shrank by more than 30%. Of those 8, one has died of melanoma, one has died of other causes, the other six are still alive 30 months later. Of the 12 who did not have an objective response, all are dead.
They have completed a PI breast cancer trial, have a PI in psorias, are starting a PI in liver cancer. Finally they have have 39 of a planned 80 enrolled in PII melanoma.
Still no partnership, which is management's stated goal. I believe for these drugs in preclinical/PI development it is very hard to get the big pharma to commit to a deal that is acceptable to the developer.
