The Distribution of Wealth in America

There is very little data about the distribution of wealth in America. There is one source, the Survey of Consumer Finances, sponsored by the Federal Reserve Board, that does provide data from 1983.

These data suggest that wealth is concentrated in the hands of a small number of families. The wealthiest 1 percent of families owns roughly 34.3% of the nation's net worth, the top 10% of families owns over 71%, and the bottom 40% of the population owns way less than 1%.

According to the annual State of the World's cities report from UN-Habitat, race is one of the most important factors determining levels of inequality in the US and Canada.

SOROS NOTE: The UN is a bunch of one-world elitists who want one set of rules for 99% of the population and another for themselves. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! I have ZERO respect for the UN -- a bunch of loons and weenies.

"In western New York state nearly 40% of the black, Hispanic and mixed-race households earned less than $15,000 compared with 15% of white households. The life expectancy of African-Americans in the US is about the same as that of people living in China and some states of India, despite the fact that the US is far richer than the other two countries," it said.

SOROS NOTE: You can yell "racist" or anything else, but it is not a simple case of the rich holding the poor man down. Go on the street and speak to these "poor" people you so gallantly champion. You cannot overcome IQ, and if it is under 95, they will always be poor -- no matter what you do for them. Geez -- have you never watched studies where they give these people money, opportunity to work, opportunity for education -- everything necessary to lift themselves out of poverty -- and they ALWAYS choose the wrong path, the path of least resistance, the lazy path -- ALWAYS!

Stop whining about and listening to smarter people than you, manipulating you into believing fairy tales for their own purposes. You should be wary of the rich. It's just the WRONG rich ones you are focusing on.
