Are you kidding me?! Boardmarks are representative of "Favorites"! You don't add something as a "Favorites" unless you are interested in having quick access to that particular board! Hence that is sentiment towards that particular board and/or stock, good or bad. Perhaps "interest" is a better word to use instead of "sentiment"?
Your reference to, "the boards with the most crackpots and whackos frequently have high counts.", not only suggests that this board is full of these "crackpots and whackos" because of it's huge Boardmark count, but that is also an attacking comment in itself, not to mention your own personal opinion! lmao
Boardmarks most certainly represent sentiment/interest or the want to have quick access to any particular board..should a person not want this quick access via "Favorites" anymore, they remove the Boardmark and thus the Boardmarks drop and that shows everyone else a loss of interest or sentiment towards that particular board/stock!
Seems simple enough to me! I completely agree with Timmage on this one! Boardmarks are definitely "on-topic" imo!
