OK so Turkey would have probably grabbed off a big chunk of the North. Who cares?? Is Turkey a threat to us??

The Saudis would have taken a real interest and helped them form a government. Why? An unstable IRAQ is a threat to THEM, not us.

The only real policy threat we faced was assuring an adequate oil supply.
