-- (Marketwire) -- 10/29/08 -- Delta Mining and Exploration (PINKSHEETS: DMXC) is pleased to announce that it has finalized exploration plans with Apex Geoscience. Apex will be sending a team to collect samples for microdiamond analysis to Three Buttes on November 17, 2008.
The collection of the sample should take no more then a few days, after which the sample will undergo caustic fusion. Results should be known relatively soon thereafter. Delta expects to have a report from Apex sometime after the New Year.
If the results are positive then the most likely recommendation from Apex will be for Delta to do a major bulk sample, similar to what was conducted on the Homestead property.
A microdiamond analysis consists of collecting several kilograms of kimberlite from specific points in and around the kimberlite target. The sample will be taken to the lab and will undergo caustic fusion. Once caustic fusion is complete the lab will examine the remaining content for microdiamonds.
