As i said if one traded 1000 shares or under are definitely worth using IB, but for someone who trade more than 3000 shares and more than 50,000 shares of OTC stock are not feasible at all to use IB. I used to trade on average of minimum 60 trades per days back 4 yrs ago, and it sure make alot of different on the commissions.

Top and bottom on each stocks are depend on each individual trading and charting capabiltiy. I am interested to open IB account to trade stocks for 1000 shares and under. :)

TG,

My thoughts exactly. I have several accounts that charge /trade commission, and several that charge /share. I tend to do my daytrading in the /share accounts because I can ease into and out of positions in smaller increments (looking for those elusive tops and bottoms) at lower total trade costs.

For example, if I want to establish a 3000 share position in 3 increments in an account that charges /trade, my total commission (buy and sell) would be about $90 ($15/trade). The same action in a /share account would run $45 total ($7.50/trade).

Works for me!

Umm, forget about the trade cost for a second. Just tell me how to nail the tops and bottoms. :^))
