When I look at the strait of Hormuz on the above map, and then look at the map you just posted, I wonder what would happen if the area on your map were thouroughly bombed to hell and the straight of Hormus were unpassable? The Russians and the Indians were having Submarine "war games" in the Arabian sea about a year ago.
Russia has its own oil reserves inland I believe. Of course so do we.
Many years ago I was told that as few as four properly sunk oil tankers in the Hormuz Strait would block the Strait to oil tankers. I am not sure how reliable the source was. Do you know if there is any truth to this?
If the Strait of Hormus is impassable and the pipelines in the caspian sea are are bombed to hell..... who comes out ahead in a war scenario the U.S. or the SCO countries?
Iran asking for Oil in Euros will have no impact on the dollar other than a phsycological one IMO. However IF all the other Ducks a lined up at the time that happens the impact could be important. Iran like any other country could dump the dollars for Euros any time they want. So other than the price of conversion where is the big deal in getting paid in Euros or dollars.
