In the US, grim is the word for holiday knick knacks. But is Intel's 3% growth forecast too optimistic ? If Intel makes s decent profit, on the order of another $2B, that's quite fine with me. The stock price can languish, if it must. Eventually the grim-ness will lift.

retail in the US will be grim and dismal. But from the point of view of whether to buy and hold INTC, more important is how will Intel do in its revenue and profits. I think they'll make the estimated EPS. Is there any reason to doubt that ? US consumers are saturated with home PC's and they will delay replacement of old machines. But I don't think business users are saturated, nor is there any saturation in the rest of the world, which is where most of Intel's revenue comes from.

Americas were 19% of Intel's sales in Q3. How much would US alone be ? 10% ? And how much would US demand drop ? 10% of that 10% ?
