I see but two reasons to own a stock; [1] to sell it to someone else at a higher price than you paid for it, be it in 5 minutes, five weeks. five moths or five years. This is speculation and it's what we do, whatever your style. The other reason to own a stock is for the yield. Currently, most yields are abysmaly low.

Indeed there use to be a time when management's main goal was to give their shareholders a decent return for their investment. Now it seems management has laid claim to their comapny profits as a pool for distribution to themselves and the employees.
But, how can we complain as shareholders - we let then do it.
