My understanding is this is considered a "placer deposit" or a wash off so to speak over a very long period of time into a now dry river bed over a relatively long distance. Thus the surface 5-6' initially mining as it is considered consolidated at surface and the depth would translate into an open pit type operation, but that will need further engineering and clarification. So the 80billion number as stated would "assume" this to be a depth of 200 feet which i don't believe is known, but what they consider the potential. True or not i think it premature to assume this deposit at depth, but the assumption appears to be this "wash" over time could lead this to be at considerable depth. Just not enough info to state this as fact in my opinion, but conceivable? Sure. Again if so then a huge discovery if not it still could hold considerable gold, but the risk/reward is apparent overall and i always think investing in these types of speculatives you should be prepared to lose it all as well as expect great reward. IMHO.
