That great sucking of funds that normally was reserved for toys and sailing came out of the account thru losses taken and those that are still unrealized.. The inability to trade while on my latest trip helped save the account as I had no ability to research and find proper DD on new investment and trading ideas.. In the #1730 thru #1756 postings on my trading board I have posted the good bad and the ugly...
What creates hope is the fact that while the trading account is down 31.2% from it's highs and I have cash avilable to purchase many stocks at a discount of over 70% from thier highs..
My most recent purchases were the following and includes thier current price as a percentage of thier highs during the past year..They all are deep harsh water oil and gas drillers or companies that provide services to these same companies...
Oil is down 52% during the same period,, but contracts for deep drillers have shown no decline in day rates and established companies that have built thier business around these drillers have seemed to continued thier growth rates and earnings increases.. What the future brings is anyone's guess but,, I believe current markdowns in these stocks is sufficent to cause thier bottoms and create new stock price bases in current market enviorments...
