I think they're probably not only bargain hunting in some cases but also still trying to catch up on their deleveraging and redemptions that have come in and those that they KNOW are still coming when this rally fades.
Just heard Santelli confirm my thoughts on the VIXN and what's going to happen after this settles out.
He likened/speculated the coming chart pattern to a hockey stick rather than a V bottom. Just another way to say what I said which is a long flat bottom with very little volatility or trading opportunities making severely beaten down DIVY STOCKS virtually the ONLY PLACE to make a decent return in the next several years.
I also believe that it won't be long until the general market arrives at this conclusion which will start pushing up the prices of those nice divy stocks very soon.
I'm thinking more and more that now is the time to start moving in on them. I'm even beginning to doubt that they'll revert to the lows again like I expect the rest of the market to do because smart traders are seeing this ahead of the herd.
I'm also thinking silver could get caught in the stagnant waters between inflation and deflation dooming it to languish flatlining like the rest of the market eventually.
Still working on all these angles, but tending toward the divys trade now more and more.
The only downside to your particular divy stocks is that they're oil/NG based which will probably be severely depressed in price in a big recession. How that'll affect the divys is only a guess but it will be negative to some extent I'm sure. How much is the question.
PS: I just bought my first PGH. Will wait until eod before making another move to see if we get more heavy selling from mutual funds and hedgies again like we did every day last week.
I know there's more redemptions coming cuz I'm recommending wifey moves her stuff out of standard equities as soon as this rally looks done and going into the very divy stocks we've been talking about along with some cash in case an even better divy stock buying opp comes along soon.
Hey, before I get too excited about going in long term on these divy stocks I wanted to ask you what the definition of a "trust unit" is.
Is that just a share of the trust in question or is there more to it than that?
I have no experience with holding divy stocks long enough to actually collect the divy. Except for the share divy on that crappy GTEL/SANSWIRE turd. LOL
