As I understand cable modem, you a placed on a "network" with all of your neighbors and share the same cable. It is possible that you have some neighbors doing some really intensive stuff like streaming videos.

A real yawner today, although NDX just provided some brief excitement by turning green. But alas it is back into the red.

I had been congratulating my subscription model for catching the market upswing just at the right time. But then they used Thursdays big downward plunge to go short for Friday and yesterday too (meanwhile I had a long scalp kick in). They blew all of the gains and then some. They're back to long for today.

A good thing that mechanical models have no ego.

If you are close to another wireless user and you are using your wireless connection you may be getting interference from them. The support center had me use data encryption to avoid "Data conflict" from my neighbors wireless routers. If you are directly connected and still getting slow response call your provider (in my case comcast) they are very helpful.
Note: My response was worse than a slow dial up connection now I am taking advantage of the full advantage of broad band.
