I tend to agree. A lot a projects in the U.A.E. are about prestige, i.e. custom built islands, mega skyscrapers, seven star hotels, Grand Prix tracks, etc. They're basically buying themselves an image as world leaders, and snatching up AMD is just another small extension to their e-peen. These guys think big, not in 5-10 years.

I agree with you. Otherwise, I would think Abu Dhabi's investment arm would be extremely stupid. I do not think they are stupid. They know what they want and they feel they are getting it. I am not sure Intel will play along ;)
