Obviously many in the press like Obama, but that doesn't mean he's been given a pass. They made a very big deal indeed of the Jeremiah Wright mess; nothing wrong with that.
I certainly don't think the press is beating up on McCain. They haven't, for example, been harping on his role as one of the "Keating Five". They've had almost nothing to say about that, and rightly so, since it was a long time ago.
My take is that the press has been more evenhanded in the general election than they were during the primaries.
