#106927 RE: Knowledge is King #106911

KIK:

"I'm not surprised that you're "not interested in 3 months, 6 months or 1 year", because those are reasonable time frames for VMC investors to judge your apocalyptic musings. Further, 3, 5, and 10 years from now nobody on VMC -- except for yourself -- will be giving any thought to multi-year old forecasts."

WRONG cynical breath! I think I have made it clear that the ONLY predictions I make are long term. Your insinuation that I only make long term predictions so that I won't be held accountable are ludicrous and proven so by your next comment!

"Luckily we all have a precedent to refer back to when considering the merits of your dire forecast...

There is nothing "lucky" about it. When I'm wrong, I admit it. That post and the following posts are proof that I don't shy away from it. In the history of IHub and maybe the internet, there has probably NEVER been an mai culpa like I did on the March 2005 prediction. And, I might add that although the market wasn't lower in 18 months, it is considerably lower TODAY. So, although based on time frame I was wrong about that prediction, I am right if the time frame were expanded to today.

Furthermore, my "RIGHTNESS" was vastly superior in Real Estate than my WRONGNESS was on the March 2005 prediction. Why don't I do a mia culpa on Real Estate and list all the times I warned of dire consequences despite the number of times I was told I was either wrong or overreacting?? Well, I won't because it patently obvious. All anyone has to do is start reading the Rubble board that I created in June, 2006 beginning with the first post.

Additionally, I have been right on several other smaller predictions and one big one is pending - oil prices - which still have 23 months to go. But, I'll be here to evaluate it - even if you aren't. No matter what, my predictions are extreme and require going way out on a limb. Any chimp can predict the markets will be up in 3 months or 1 year. The odds are overwhelming that would be true over the course of market history. Wow. I'm impressed!

The reason I don't have any interest in short term market predictions is because I don't have any interest in TRADING. I have an interest in INVESTING - and that means determining what is going to happen over 3+ years, not some podunk 3 months which is just a blip on the radar screen. I will buy back the markets when there is blood in the streets and that can only happen after a multi-year decline. Since we hit all time highs less than a year ago, that leaves me out of the picture for at least a couple years in all probability.
