Here's a little FYI for you....Bloomberg Tradebook is Excel based, although at present, it can't be traded directly with Excel. Many of Bloombergs customers have wanted to trade directly with Excel but until now Bloomberg never found the trading software that could effectively and efficiently, dare I say seamlessly, pull it off. Hence they now have found SpoozToolz which perfectly fits the bill for them. This also explains the mutually benenficial integrated product that both Bloomberg and Spooz are working on together, as well as the reason for Bloomberg to market it.
Of course Bloomberg wants to work with Spooz...due to the Excel connection. Many larger brokerages already default to Excel, and would love an integrated trading system based on Excel.
