No one here has ever questioned whether or not politics plays into the market.

The issue is that there is a small group here that consistently make political statements that have nothing to do with trading. What is interesting (and maybe someone can explain why) is that the abusers are almost all left-leaning. I am actually pretty impressed that the right-leaning contributors have been so measured in their responses to the incessant violations.

Could you imagine what this board would be like if for every comment like the following someone on the other side were to respond with their opinion?

"Bush Speaking = -200 here we go LOL" - EYE_ON_WALLST
"And now add to that we have to listen to the village idiot." - tinner
"George Bush demonstrates how well he flushes a toilet, via the American Economy, and uses $ 100.00 bills to wipe his butt." - zab


Well Zeev knew what would happen and many others here do as well, which is why there is a Politics board to post on.
