I think the funniest thing is that everyone is talking about MOLD. Where most of the initial money will be made from environmental firms such as mine is BEFORE a license is needed. We come in as a consultant to advise what can be treated and what needs to be removed to PREVENT mold culture growth. We do air sampling and material sampling to determine moisture and mold count or presence, and THEN we recommend remediation if necessary. When mold is detected, we contact a licensed firm and they get about a 60% cut of our cost for the affected areas, or less if they don't handle the lab costs. We are not a licensed assessment firm, but 2 of my employees are on that list as Mold assessment consultants, which allows them to sample and test for the presence, then we contact Farmer & Assoc., who is on the list to do a full assessment and write up the protocol for the remediation company to execute. Easy.
