Yep. If I had my way there would only be debates before an election. In those debates you could only disagree with the others plan by telling them how yours is better and why not by calling them an idiot even if it is well deserved. LOL!

You could have a website that would take each subject and say what you will do to change things. But no comments about the other person. No commercials or any other type of communication. Everyone would know how to get the info and there would be TV station in every area in the US that would do nothing but show the debates and website info over and over again for people who missed the debates or have no net access.

Then these on record debates which would be placed like a utube video on their website, as well websites record of action could be looked at again later which would give a person an idea what they did, or did they not do to deserve re-election.

I think most of us here agree that the mudslinging has to stop and the issues need to be addressed. Maybe this will happen in the debates but I'm not holding my breath.

As for the families being dragged in.....I don't like it either but the media knows what sells. For every person that doesn't like that type of politics there are probably two or three that do.

With that said, I still wonder if Palin was sufficiently vetted, or if she was, who vetted her?

My cynical side says the selection of Palin was made to bring the Conservative base back into the fold because of her religious and social views. When I really let my imagination run wild, I think that if McCain is elected, he will step down shortly after and Palin will take over.

THAT could make me have sleepless nights.

>For me personally, all this mud slinging will not effect my vote...what is talked about as far as their plans however will very much effect my vote<

Really?

I do find this hard to understand because a previous post of yours on this board listing why McCain was a good choice suggested absolutely no room for a change in your vote. Religious background, and an admitted refusal to ever vote for Obama appear to be dealbreakers to any changing of the mind.
