Irishbull - I disagree with your assessment to the extent you are stating that the presence of Viacom means the demise of the Q. First, the fact that Viacom is officially in the game brings a certain credibility and a load of publicity to the concept of a gay television channel. The Q will be able to ride this wave with the bigger Viacom acting as the lightning rod. Second, the Q needs to stay focused by establishing its audience, getting its programs and getting its carriers. It should continue to emphasize that this is a gay and lesbian put together by gays and lesbians. And more importantly, it needs to ensure its programming that will be appealing. Then, it has to slowly develop. I believe you are right to the extent you are suggesting that the Q cannot make it alone. However, Viacom has competitors and if the g/l concept takes off, those competitors will want to get into the game. If the Q has established its little niche, I truly believe those bigger players will be coming around.
